1Click to Pay

Click to Pay can be described as a wallet for credit and debit cards. It was introduced by the major credit card payment networks (schemes) to provide a unified and streamlined online checkout process.

The goal is speed. The consumer will not have to type in the credit card information with every purchase but will choose the pre-saved card that should be used.

Click to Pay transactions are secure, largely thanks to the use of scheme token technology. No sensitive card data like the actual card number or the expiration date need to be exchanged or stored.

1.1How to enable Click to Pay?

To allow your customers to pay via Click to Pay, you need to meet some requirements:

  • You need to configure a processor that is able to directly process card data and enable the connectors of the credit card brands that should be available.

  • You need to register your online store with the different Click to Pay systems.

1.1.1Configure a processor

Navigate to Space > Payment > Configuration > Processors to configure the processor that should be used to process Click to Pay payments. Make sure to enable the connectors of the credit card brands that should be available for the processor.

The connectors need to support the feature Direct Card processing for them to be able to process Click to Pay payments.

1.1.2Register with Click to Pay systems

Navigate to Space > Payment > Configuration > Click to Pay to register your online store with the Click to Pay systems.

The supported Click to Pay systems are listed and the current registration status is displayed. If the registration is missing, you can click on the Configure button to provide the necessary information.

Once the registration status is Ready, the Click to Pay system is enabled and can be used to do payments.

1.1.3Enable Click to Pay

You can enable or disable Click to Pay in your space and switch between test and live mode on Space > Payment > Configuration > Click to Pay.
